Manufacturing IT, Business Central & Digital Operations
Technology that keeps production, people & data moving.
Knowtion helps manufacturers and distributors stabilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, rescue troubled ERP migrations, support assembly and shipping workflows, secure plant and office technology, connect systems, automate manual work and turn operating data into better decisions.
Knowtion connects ERP, operations, IT, custom applications and analytics so technology reflects how the business actually manufactures and ships product.
Four outcomes. Technology aligned to the way the plant actually works.
Manufacturing systems fail when the implementation understands software but not the business. Knowtion starts with the actual flow of purchasing, inventory, assembly, production, shipping, people and data—then fixes the technology around it.
STABILIZE
Make ERP support manufacturing instead of interrupting it.
Repair Business Central and Dynamics migrations, restore missing workflows, improve assembly, inventory, purchasing and shipping, and build extensions where standard functionality falls short.
RUN
Keep plant and office technology reliable and secure.
Support users, endpoints, Microsoft 365, networks, backups and cybersecurity with an operating model that works across office, warehouse and production environments.
CONNECT
Eliminate workarounds between systems and teams.
Connect ERP, Quickbase, vendor systems, warehouse processes and custom applications; automate repetitive work; and replace spreadsheet handoffs with durable workflows.
MEASURE
Turn operating data into better decisions.
Bring ERP, purchasing, inventory, production, financial and operational data into dashboards and KPIs leaders can use without waiting for another spreadsheet.
A troubled ERP migration became a Business Central environment the business could trust.
Darrah Electric came to Knowtion after a prior provider migrated the company from a 2018-era Microsoft Dynamics environment into Business Central. The system was technically live, but important manufacturing and assembly functionality was missing, shipping was disrupted, recurring issues remained unresolved, and the implementation did not reflect how the business actually operated.
Knowtion took over the environment, learned Darrah’s manufacturing and assembly processes, stabilized the implementation, corrected workflow and configuration problems, custom-coded Business Central extensions for functionality the business needed, and reviewed licensing that had been structured inefficiently.
How well does your technology support the way you actually manufacture?
Rate four areas that commonly create operational friction. You will see the result immediately; no email is required.
- Directional benchmark in under two minutes
- Balances ERP, operations, IT and data
- Designed to identify the best place to start—not sell a rip-and-replace project
Stabilize first. Optimize second.
Manufacturers rarely need another abstract transformation program. They need the highest-risk operational gaps fixed first, then a roadmap that improves reliability, visibility and cost over time.
Assess
Understand ERP, manufacturing workflows, shipping, integrations, infrastructure, vendors and the issues users work around every day.
Stabilize
Fix the problems affecting operations, close critical security and continuity gaps, and restore confidence in the systems people depend on.
Optimize
Automate, integrate, measure and reduce technology cost once the operating foundation is reliable.
Questions manufacturers ask before bringing in another technology partner.
Can Knowtion take over a Business Central implementation from another partner?
Yes. Knowtion can assess the current Business Central environment, business processes, extensions, integrations, licensing and unresolved issues, then stabilize the implementation without forcing the company to start over.
Does Knowtion understand manufacturing and assembly workflows?
Yes. Knowtion starts with how purchasing, inventory, assembly, production, shipping and financial processes actually work in the business, then maps Business Central and surrounding systems to those operating requirements.
Can Knowtion build custom Business Central extensions?
Yes. When standard Business Central functionality or configuration does not cleanly support the required workflow, Knowtion can design and develop custom extensions and integrations with appropriate testing and documentation.
Can you review Business Central and Microsoft licensing costs?
Yes. Licensing and vendor-cost optimization can be part of the engagement. In the Darrah Electric takeover, correcting the licensing structure reduced recurring cost by approximately $50,000 per year.
Can Knowtion support both ERP and the underlying IT environment?
Yes. Knowtion can combine Business Central and business-systems consulting with managed IT, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, backup, networks, integrations, analytics and custom software when a manufacturer needs a more accountable technology operating model.
Start with the systems and workflows hurting the business most.
Knowtion can assess Business Central, manufacturing workflows, IT, security, integrations and technology cost—then build a prioritized plan.
